And the Winner is… Yet Again

Well this time it’s Dr. Carin Bondar and myself.

We entered the Film Snacks contest put on by Discovery World and Planet in Focus. Our entry, which you can watch HERE, was about the toads migration in Ryder Lake and how the Fraser Valley Conservancy is making an effort in helping the toads cross the road safely.

I’ll be heading to the Planet in Focus film festival in Toronto and will debuting our video at the closing gala. Not to mention the fancy digs of the Fairmont York in downtown TO. Yes!

A very special thank to Discovery World and Planet in Focus and of course to Carin – this woman is a star and deserves to be in front of the camera. We’ll get there one step at a time.

We had a lot of fun filming the video and in fact, Carin and I have filmed a few other videos as well, here are those:

South Kootenay Business Center

Not too long ago I posted about The Little Things and how those little things that go into production work often goes unnoticed and unappreciated.

Well that said, here’s the final copy of the commercial for South Kootenay Business Center. It was a lot of fun to produce and I’m really impressed with the level of professionalism and resources that the Community Futures in Trail provides.

It was a pleasure working with the Trail Community Futures team to put together an ad for their new service, the South Kootenay Business Center.
It’s a very cool office space in downtown Trail that is going to provide start-up businesses some awesome resources. I wish one existed in Chilliwack.

My 5000th

The other day I celebrated my 5000th tweet on Twitter.

If you want to follow me on Twitter, do it and I may follow you back.

What’s that? You don’t use Twitter? WHY NOT? It’s way better than Facebook (speaking of which, I will be posting my reasons for leaving the FB world, very soon).

Here’s my 5000th tweet via video:

A Story Worth Saving

If I ever get a chance to put a story into a movie, I would hope people would come to my rescue like this: www.savebluelikejazz.com/

If you aren’t familiar with Donald Miller or Blue Like Jazz, I recommend you grab a copy of it. Everyone I’ve talked to that has read feels like they know Donald Miller afterwards.
Warm hearted, funny and insightful, whether you leave the book believing what Donald Miller believes or leave with a little insight into life, I think you’d love it.

I love what the two guys behind this project are doing. Saving something they want to see happen. How cool is it to stick it to the man that said he wouldn’t fund this film. How cool would it be to see people rise up and help out someone elses vision. I would hope that if my production career ever got so far as making a feature film and the funding got pulled, that someone would come to my rescue and help me.

At least check out who Donald Miller is, he’s a pretty decent guy.
